Parkland fit for a prince
Walk in the footsteps of ancient Welsh princes and view your kingdom from Dinefwr Castle, a Cadw heritage site. Gaze in wonder at the panoramic views over the Tywi Valley. Follow pathways through ancient woodland and discover some of the oldest trees in Britain. Encounter the creatures that have been grazing this land for more than a thousand years: our White Park Cattle, first recorded in the Laws of Hywel Dda in the year 920.
A home full of history
Set in the middle of the Dinefwr parkland, Newton House was the home of the Rhys family for centuries. Spot the original 1660 classical facade and its later gothic transformations. Inside, immerse yourself in the history of the house and admire many 17th century features including moulded ceilings, the grand staircase and a collection of fine paintings. Pause in the formal garden to watch the deer roaming Dinefwr's romantic parkland.
